On October 9, the City of North Miami Beach released a video featuring Mayor Joseph proudly announcing the adoption of a “balanced” 2025–2026 budget that he says reflects both responsibility and impact.
In the video, he highlights investments in infrastructure, public safety, community services, and beautification, and claims the city restored $5 million in reserves to strengthen long-term financial stability.
While WakeUp NMB may not have the same video production team or polished presentation as City Hall, we felt it was important to respond. The mayor’s claims in the city’s “budget recap” video deserve a closer look, so we created our own to separate fact from fiction.
