Results of the 2024 Run off election
Congratulations to Commissioner-Elect Lynn Su! A heartfelt thank you to the 18% of residents who came out to vote—your voices made a difference, but we can and must do better. Civic engagement and staying informed are vital for the future of our community.
We narrowly avoided disaster this time. The word was out that a new city manager, with no prior experience, was set to step in, guided by none other than the former manager who plunged our city into chaos with their mismanagement. Such a scenario could only have unfolded with the backing of four self-serving commissioners, who seem to prioritize personal connections over the public good.
Now, one of those commissioners is our Mayor—an irony that speaks volumes. Another aligned themselves with a corrupt former commissioner who thankfully was defeated yesterday, and the third? Let’s just say there’s little left to say.
The good news? The dynamics have shifted. With three votes no longer amounting to four, the majority of our commissioners are now accountable to the citizens, not personal interests. Let’s take pride in this moment, but remember—this is only the beginning. In two years, we’ll need to come together again to ensure our city’s leadership continues to reflect the values of its residents. Stay informed, stay involved, and let’s keep building a better future.
